As I launch this site with some of my favorite recent and older photos I am excited to finally open my portfolios to family, old friends and hopefully new friends.  In these collections you will find a little of everything since my roots in photography go back to 1969 when I was "required" to take a class in photography as part of the curriculum for my degree in Commercial Art and Advertising Design.  Once I saw those first images appear in a "negative" and later as prints in the old chemical darkroom, I was hooked!  I've carried cameras with me virtually everywhere I've gone since including my travels during 22 years in the U.S. Navy, living in Japan, and most recently, traveling to China.

As my wife and daughters can attest to, a cross country driving trip with me can take awhile since it always involves numerous unscheduled stops and side trips to capture the images that are always out there.  During one round-trip to Seattle several years ago we actually drove the Oregon coast almost three times as we stopped and back tracked just to take in the beauty and to try to capture it on film.

I hope you enjoy these photos and check back frequently since I will be continually adding new photos and will be scanning in many of my older favorite images to convert them from film to a digital format.

Thanks, Mark.
